What I cover, and what I don't.

When it was unveiled in 2019, I figured it was too crazy to fail. I still think that. I also think its exterior is the least crazy part about it, and I’ve said so to Newsweek.

What I cover

Real ownership, measured where I can measure it.

  • Range tests. Winter tires at 70 mph, on Michigan highways, with the numbers written down.
  • Cold weather. Driving a Cybertruck below 0°F: preconditioning, charging, what the truck does and doesn’t do.
  • Starlink. Installing a Starlink Mini on the truck using the 48V system, so the internet comes with you.
  • The tax credit. A complete guide to the $7,500 Cybertruck EV tax credit, kept current.
  • Mods and maintenance. What I’ve added, what broke, what it cost.

I’m a Part 107 certified drone pilot and a filmmaker by trade, so the footage is better than the average owner post. That’s a low bar. I try to clear it anyway.

Are you actually The Cybertruck Guy?

Yes. @cybrtrkguy on X and YouTube. The old site, thecybrtrkguy.com, now lives here. Same truck, same guy, better domain.

Do you still rent your Cybertruck?

No. I did in Grand Rapids and Chicago in the early days. The truck is now a daily work vehicle and I stopped. The articles stay up for the people who keep searching.

Can I sponsor a video or thread?
